Young Composers:Editors

From Young Composers
Jump to: navigation, search

Young Composers is looking to increase its editing base to its wiki, and is encouraging its members to contribute. Although anyone can edit the wiki, top editors do have certain advantages. We offer a few incentives, and the incentives lie in the form of thread exposure. There are two ways wiki contributors can gain more exposure to their threads.

Editor Advantages

  • Increased mp3/midi storage
  • Ability to advertise one thread of choice indefinitely on our Young Composers homepage if you remain among the top 10 editors during a 30 day time frame. Scores change daily, so if you become inactive, you will be bumped down the ranks. You may check here for your current standing. Please use the honor system when posting your thread of choice on the homepage.
  • If you are beyond the top 10, we also allow editors to advertise their thread of choice on the forum headers. Have you noticed that yellow box on each forum homepage? You may add your link to your thread in this space if you are confident that you have been contributing to the wiki. We presently do not have any rules governing the time and amount of links to be advertised on the forum headers, but we reserve the right to formulate these rules in the future as we see fit.

Editor Responsibility

  • Upon becoming an editor, you will have access to the editing forum, where editors discuss new site development, standards, and other projects.
  • Please use portals to build a gateway for main ideas. An example of a main idea would be music theory. If you are unsure of what to do, refer to our Site Structure page. Eventually, the site structure page will be broken up into existing portals, and editors can obtain more development ideas by developing the portals further.
  • Up to the discretion of the admin and the overall behavior of the editor, editors may acquire limited moderation abilities on the forum and edit forum posts as they see fit by surrounding important keywords with brackets like so [[Keyword in forum post]] This will encourage someone to write an article about that keyword.

Editor Eligibility

  • Prospects must show dedication to Young Composers and should have roughly 50 posts before applying.
  • Prospects must prove some editing history on Young Composers before applying, keeping in mind the wiki saves all historic records.
