Marcell Magyari was born in Budapest in 1992. He is a Hungarian student-composer. His first piece was a Flute Concerto, which he wrote to a flutist girl he loved. It was performed in May of 2007 on a solo concert of Marcell Magyari. From that time, he has written music, having completed 15 pieces in the first year. In September of 2007, Magyari began to study composition with Katalin Pócs, a Hungarian composer.


Magyari claims to have invented the style "half-discordance", which means that a piece has two movements: a slow, modern first; and a fast, consonant second movement. His pieces are about his feelings (love, solitude, hope...), or something which he experienced or saw (dawn, night, etc.) or sometimes the world's brutality, its people...
