Giselle Eastman was born in 1983 in Arlington, VA. She began playing the organ at the age of 8 but pursued the clarinet at age 10 and in high school performed with the American Youth Philharmonic. She had a jaw surgery after high school that forced her performance dreams to fade. She recovered, however, and still plays the clarinet recreationally. She took up composition at that point and eventually decided to switch her career goals after several years in computer science. She is now a first year student of music composition at LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. Her current teacher is Dinos Constantinides.
