Burl Ogle started with music very young in and out of school. In band he played trombone throughout middle school, high school, and into college until he got a hernia. To remain a music major in college, he picked up piano for a few years, but dropped out when he decided he didn't want to pursue a music ed. degree.
Burl started composing in high school and in his senior year wrote a piece for the concert band that was performed in the spring concert. After years of struggle, he was finally published but had to face the reality that most composers don't make very much and so focused most of his time on another career.
